NETWORKS launches new website

20 January 2015

A year after being awarded a grant in the Gravitation (Zwaartekracht) programme, NETWORKS proudly presents its new website.

In December 2013, the NETWORKS project was awarded a grant of 22.7 Million Euro from the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) through the NWO Gravitation programme. Prof. Michel Mandjes from the Korteweg – de Vries Institute for Mathematics is the leader of this project. The project, at the interface of mathematics and theoretical computer science, focuses on new techniques to model, understand, control and optimise a broad range of networks that are intrinsically complex and highly volatile.

During 2014 the NETWORKS' Management Team has intensively focused on further setting up the programme and its underlying infrastructure. After having been "up and running" for a year, NETWORKS has hired 11 PhD students, three Postdocs and five Assistant Professors. The first scientific meetings have taken place, and concrete plans for the educational programme and workshops have been developed.

The new website, launched on 18 January 2015, is meant to provide detailed information on the NETWORKS project. If you’re interested, please visit the website (www.thenetworkcenter.nl) and follow NETWORKS on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Networksprogramme.
