The faculty winners of the UvA Lecturer of the Year award have been determined. More than 1,800 votes were cast between Tuesday, 14 February and Thursday, 2 March.
The votes were counted for each faculty and the following lecturers have won:
|Faculty of Economics and Business||Torsten Jochem|
|Faculty of Humanities||Mark Deuze|
|Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences||Hylke de Vries|
|Faculty of Science||Marco Swaen|
|Faculty of Law||Antoinette Muntjewerff|
|Faculty of Medicine||Paul van Trotsenburg|
The Central Student Council and ASVA Student Union will put each of the faculty winners in the limelight. The faculty winners will also be invited by the CSR and ASVA to join the Executive Board for a celebratory dinner on 29 March.
This year’s elections are dedicated to the theme of ‘Heart for education’. As a token of appreciation for their favourite lecturer, students who voted were given the opportunity to add a personal message to their nomination. Each lecturer has been given the personal messages that were written to him or her.
The faculty winners will be judged by a jury consisting of students from all faculties. The winner will be announced later this year and will be honoured during the opening of the new academic year. Over the course of the next academic year, the elected Lecturer of the Year will serve as an ambassador for good teaching and education at the University of Amsterdam.
