50 Participants found their way to the Mathematics Alumni-Meeting

On Thursday November 1st the Korteweg – de Vries Institute for Mathematics (KdVI) organized the first Alumni-meeting in 10 years for alumni, staff and students in Mathematics at the UvA.

The afternoon was set up in such a way that two alumni talked about their careers after graduation and one alumnus talked about the about current state of affairs of mathematical research.

During the meeting Peter Weijland (PhD in 1989) talked about his career as a senior manager at Turner. After that Yara van Schaik, who recently graduated in 2017, gave a talk about her work as a Consultant in Forensic Technology at KPMG. Finally KdVI researcher and lecturer Guus Regts (PhD in 2013) gave a talk that was intended to update the alumni about the current state of affairs of mathematical research.
