General information
The Korteweg-de Vries Institute of the University of Amsterdam offers two distinct master's programmes in mathematical sciences:
- Mathematics (tracks ranging from algebraic geometry to numerical analysis)
- Stochastics and Financial Mathematics (tracks ranging from financial mathematics to mathematical statistics and applied probability)
Master's programmes in mathematical sciences are part of the Graduate School of Sciences and are given in collaboration with the VU University Amsterdam (VU).
Together with the Faculty of Economics and Business a double master's programme is offered that combines the MSc Stochastics and Financial Mathematics or the MSc Mathematics with the MSc Econometrics.
National Master Courses
For each of those three programs there are substantial possibilities to attend courses from the Mastermath Programme.
These are courses for students of all mathematical master's programmes offered at central locations in the Netherlands.

Student assistantships
For students in our two mathematical master's programmes there are usually some teaching assistantships available. Requirements include a good knowledge of mathematics as taught in bachelor's courses, and fluency in Dutch or English. Please contact Dr Chris Zaal for more information.
