Mathematics research at KdVI is organised in three core programmes, each comprising several projects and subprogrammes. In addition to these programmes, some staff members with a relatively small research task are involved with research directed at teaching (focus area blended learning) or history of mathematics.

The NETWORKS consortium addresses the pressing challenges posed by large-scale networks using stochastics and algorithms.
QuSoft is the Dutch research center for quantum software. Its mission is to develop new protocols, algorithms and applications that can be run on small and medium-sized prototypes of a quantum computer.
